The North Grove on Mainstreet NS with Jeff Douglas: Dartmouth community hub seeing record number of volunteers

While volunteerism is down across Canada after the COVID-19 pandemic, the North Grove in Dartmouth, N.S., is bucking that trend. Executive director Wendy Fraser joins host Jeff Douglas to talk about how the community hub has seen a record number of volunteer hours put in at its North Dartmouth location.

The North Grove gratefully acknowledges that we live and work in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi'kmaq people.

This territory is covered by the Treaties of Peace and Friendship which Mi’kmaq, Wolastoqiyik, and Passamaquoddy People first signed with the British Crown in 1726. We are all treaty people.

People of African descent have also shared these lands for more than 400 years.
