Create a
Lasting Impact
The North Grove’s community hub has served the area since 1994, growing and evolving along with the needs of the individuals, families and children.
Making a legacy gift can be an excellent way to have a lasting impact on a cause that’s close to your heart, while meeting your financial needs at the same time.
Legacy gifts to The North Grove ensure that programs offering good food, family support, and friendship can continue, and that our culture of care and collaboration can grow for generations.
We are able to accept various giving methods and we can work together to maximize your impact for years to come:
Gifts in Wills
Leave a gift in your will to make a lasting impact on the families, children and individuals who make up The North Grove community.
Ask your lawyer to include an appropriate paragraph in your will for a fixed amount or a percentage of your estate. Your estate will receive a tax credit that will reduce or eliminate income taxes due to your estate.
The North Grove’s legal name is The North Grove Society and our registered charity number is #BN 140914755 RR 000.

Giving through Life Insurance
You can give a gift of life insurance by donating an existing policy or creating a new one and naming The North Grove as the beneficiary.
When purchasing a life insurance policy and making a charity both the beneficiary and owner, you will receive a tax receipt for the annual premiums paid. When assigning an existing policy to a charity, you will receive a tax receipt for any cash value in the policy.
Gifts of Securities
Securities, including publicly listed stocks, bonds, and mutual funds may be donated directly to The North Grove via our broker (no fees) or via CanadaHelps (fees apply).
If you transfer them directly rather than sell them and donate the proceeds, you will eliminate any capital gains tax otherwise owed. You will also receive a valuable tax credit for the full value of the securities.
Other options include:
-
Bequests
-
RRSPs and RRIFs
